Time Goes By...

1st Marriage Anniversary!

Today, 3rd Aug 2011 is our 1st Civil Marriage Anniversary. M surprised me by sending me a bouquet of roses while i was in office. Of coz it was sent by the florist. He followed by a call after that. Such a cheeky romantic man he is!

After work, we went for a satisfying dinner at Amaree, Subang Avenue. We were so happy eating that we've forgotten to ask the waiter to take pictures of us. Boohoo~!

Hence here goes a solo picture of me in the car. But we've promised to remember to take picture together on our 1st Church Wedding Anniversary which will be on Sept 4th. Hopefully we will remember and not like this time, busy eating only.

Thank you, darling! May our love continues to grow stronger as each day passes by, just like it has been ever since we first started. I love you more than you could imagine and i know you too. Love you always!!

I'm sorry if my post today seems to be gloomy or negative. I can't help myself from feeling down. But don't worry about me, i just need to get it out! Perhaps, i will get better after my second cup of coffee.

2. My hubby is someone I like to travel with because he's the only one who can understand how i feel now.

Music Monday #22: Better

Marriage is when two individuals love each others and decided to spent the rest of their lives together. I still remember my wedding very well. It was a beautiful morning. All my beloved families and friends had come together to celebrate this sacred and wonderful celebration of ours. It was the most wonderful thing that ever happened to me. When Martin declared his consent before God, I had tears in my eyes.

I. Martin, take you, Jean to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honour you all the days of my life, till death do us apart.

Martin & I were together for 9 years ++ before we got married, and now it makes us 10 years ++ of being together. We have started our love strong and it has been even stronger as time goes by. He has done his part very well. He was there during the bad times and he is not selfish at all. He has put my happiness before him. Sometimes, I am amazed at the things he can do for me, especially during our most difficult moments recently.

"Darling, I've been wanting to thank you for everything, for all the things that you did for me. If it wasn't for you and your divine love, I would still be in my dream. The reality is too cruel for me to accept but you've made it easier for me. The Story Of Our Baby Julia

At exactly one month ago, on 12th May 2011, a beautiful baby girl was brought into this world. Her name is Julia Martin Soo Sum Yue. Her English name was given by her daddy, while her Chinese name was given by her grandfather.

She was not supposed to be out yet until 25th June, but due to the complications experienced by her mommy who was having preeclampsia, she had to be brought out. Upon entering this world, she was very weak and had to depend on the machine for breathing. Despite all the negative comments from their doctors, her mommy & daddy had their hopes high.

Her mommy was in ICU for a day before transferring to normal ward. She was still having high blood pressure and was very weak at that time. Her daddy had to stayed overnights in the hospital to accompany both his precious. He was alternating between ICU to see his daughter and normal ward to see his wife.
When her mommy was able to get down from bed on Day 3, she joined her daddy to see her. As what her grandma and great grandma said, Julia looks just like her mommy, especially her nose. Her hair was like her daddy - slightly curl, and fingers like her daddy – short and fatty. She was the most precious treasure her parents had. She was a part of them!

Her parents did not give up, they talked to her for 10mins every 45 mins, starting from 9am to 1am. Everytime, they asked her to be good girl and be strong. They told her about her comfy pink bed and her fun rocking bed. They even enticed her by saying that there are a lot of toys waiting for her at home and everybody is waiting for her to wake up. But she was still too weak to give any response.

Finally on Day 4, Julia left for heaven. She will be deeply missed by her parents, grandparents, uncles and aunties. And they will always keep Little Baby Julia in their hearts.

Hello, guys! We're back with an update for you! On 3 Aug 2010, we went through our Civil Marriage at Putrajaya with our families and friends as our witnesses. We're now legally known as Mr & Mrs Martin Soo. :)

Right now, we are busy preparing for our church wedding & reception which will be next month. Till we see again, please take care of our TGB!

It was a mess during our last FFI. M has allegedly said that I had eaten a cockroach and it tasted yum. "Yeww.." how gross? But he later made it up by saying that I have a breathtaking smile. Lucky for him, if not I would give him a nice punch on his pretty face for contaminating my name publicly like that! LOL!

And...here we go!

1. He was a very close friend of mine before he went on his own way.

2. Going on holidays is what I look forward to most this time of year.

3. My best friend is M.

4. I am a big sulker around M, to be honest with you.

M's Birthday Dinner

Last Tuesday, July the 14th was M's 27th birthday. Since we've celebrated his birthday with his family earlier on weekend, we decided to have a lovely dinner at our home, just the two of us. His birthday dinner was prepared all by myself this time. Blessedly, he's satisfied with just a seafood dish and a dessert.

Sweet & Spicy/ Sour Crab: This is one of my my future FIL's specialties. His version was posted here. Thank you for passing the recipe to me, Uncle Mike!

Fried mantau bun: The buns were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside while it is still soft in the inside. Fried buns and crab sauce for dipping are perfect combination. Yumm!!

Chendol Pudding: One of M's fav dessert from me. (Will post the recipe on my Food Friday entry tomorrow).

As usual, I am late again for my MM post. Supposedly, I am going to post a wedding song for this week entry. I've even started out as early as Saturday night to choose it. But luck wasn't at my side, I couldn't find any nice song that night.

Then today, as I wanted to do my MM post, i remembered a song from Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian which I've just watched its rerun on Astro on weekend. That night was the first time I watch Narnia. It was the first time I listen to this song and I was instantly captivated by its soft melody and mystical voice. I think the song is so magical!

M's Early Birthday Celebration

Lat Saturday, we celebrated M's birthday at his parent's. It was an early birthday celebration because his actual birthday falls on a Tuesday. We had a 4 seasons dish to start with, followed by a scrumptious tomyam and chicken soup steamboat, and ended with a yummy~licious cake.

According to our norm, the birthday boy/ girl gets to order his/ her food. Usually M's parents will cook for the birthday boy/ girl. But this time round, since M has ordered mine & his mom specialty foods, his dad gets an off day.

Flower deco made with love by me, using tomato skin and cucumber.

4 Seasons : Fried Prawn Dumplings/ Salad Prawns (by me), Stir-fry sweet peas with abalone (by M's mom), Fried Eggs with fan see (by M's mom), and lastly baby octopus (bought from Fatman Steamboat).

Tomyam and chicken soup base steamboat (by me).

Best Tong Tung Kwa Butter Cake topped with almond nibs, baked with love by M's mom.
Happy Birthday again, darling! Am now looking forward to your brother's birthday next month. I wonder what will he orders? hehe

Yes, I've been single all my entire life in high school. Don't get me wrong! It is not because I was unwanted at that time but it was because of a promise i made to my mom when i was 5 years old. I remembered my mom was praying when i interrupted her with this promise, "Mom, I am not going to have any boyfriend until I've finished studying". She just giggled away while continuing on with her prayers.

I knew my mom has forgotten about this little promise over the time but it was still fresh in my mind. That's why I was determined not to accept any dates during my high school. While most of my friends were happily dating and talking about their boyfriends, I would spent my time with my best friends and families. Tho' there were some lonely times when I had desired to have someone to pamper me and love me, but promise made is a promise kept. Blessed for me that I have a bunch of best friends to lessen my lonely times. Being single wasn't that hard after all!

However the desire to have someone to love me grew stronger after I left high school. How I dreaded to be in someone's arm! And how i wished at that time that I would know some friendly singles or perhaps American singles available out there.

While waiting in the car for M to buy his ramly burger this evening, i had this thought, "What makes a relationship lasting? How do we get to this stage?" Then I looked back at our 8 years together, and I realized that beside from the communications we had, we jokes alot daily. M & I are very childlike at heart.

If you see us, we're like two children who is deeply in love with each others. For instance; I love punching M on his cheek, and M loves to imitate the slogans or characters he finds humorous. M would make me laugh, every single of my life. I think that is one of the reason why we are still on fire for each others.

We heart Adam Lambert!!! It was love at first sound! When we first heard him singing, we knew he's the one. And do you guys know that my soap opera name has 'Lambert' in it? Yes, it's true! I took the Blogthings quiz from LJ's, and my soap opera name was Livia Bianca Lambert. What a lovely coincident, rite?

Our New Home

Since TGB was published around Sept last year, I've not been changing its look. As a Blog Makover Queen myself, how could I have left my LOVE blog unattended like that. It's already cruel to only publish a post or two per week here, and now I am not going to leave it un'touch', if you know what i meant!

With a heart full of passion for our LOVE blog, I started on our makeover journey. After 10 days, here's our new look! Allison Iraheta is my next favorite contestant in American Idol Season 8. This LA native is only 16 years old and definitely is the youngest contestant in AI. Last week, she sang 'Don't Speak' which I thought was very well sang. She's got her rock style incorporated so cool in the song and I really love it, especially since 'Don't Speak' is my fave karaoke song.

That's why, I was really surprised to find out that Allison was at the bottom three. Luckily, she's safe to perform again this week. Come 'on my international friends, root for Allison for me, k!

Our 8th Anniversary!

Yesterday saw us celebrating our 8th anniversary. It has been a wonderful 8 years together and both of us are blessed to have each others. My cousin always say to us, "You two are always so loving to each others. It is like both of you have just started dating yesterday." It is definitely the greatest compliment for both of us as a couple. And she's right! Even tho' we've been together for 8 years, we don't feel bored with each others. Our love just kept growing stronger and stronger with each day passes by.

Darling, your love has been nothing but caring, gentle, patient, generous, faithful, passionate, kind, understanding, respectful and thoughtful to me all these 8 years. Thank you for showering me with your endless love! I could not have been gone through what i have without you. You are the joy of my life! And I thank God for every second I am with you! I love you, darling, now and always will!

We had a great BBQ dinner at home last night. Cooking has always been fun for us. M did the bbqueing while i cooked the sauce and side dishes. I will post about the food at my other blog, AGP, where I can post the recipe too. Here, I would like to end this post with the recent photo we took together.

Earth Hour Dinner

While some may have gone to a more happening places (like Shemah or ECL), M & I had a quiet candlelight dinner with his mom. It was just a simple sushi candlelight dinner but the meaning behind this candlelight dinner has make it more exciting.

(I'm sorry for these poor quality of photos, it was really dark)
We were really surprised that all of the houses (except for one or two) at our row were in support of Earth Hour 2009. The road was really quiet that you could hear the insects singing in the dark. I am really happy to see the positive responses from our fellow Malaysians. You've all made me proud!

p/s: Earth Hour campaign resulted in electricity consumption dipping by 550 megawatt. The 550 megawatt is equivalent to 14 million fluorescent bulbs of 40 watt each. Good job, peeps! :) [Source: The Star]

Have you guys watch One in a Million before? It is a singing competition shown on 8TV. I haven't watch it on TV yet, but i've heard of it many times from my BFF marzie. She is crazy over this show and would not miss it, even if she has not been sleeping for 30hours straight. Such a loyal fan, rite!

Music Monday #11: Circle of Life

Lion King is one of my favourite Disney cartoon and this is my favourite song from Lion King. I love the story between Simba and his father Mustafa. It was really real and touching! Sometimes, we need to be stern in educating our child, or else he/ she would ended up a spoilt brat. But yet at the same time, we need to build a loving relationship with our child. This is not an easy task, especially when your child is still young. He/ she wouldn't understand about 'saying no for their own good'. ><

And this reminds me of my experience with a flasher when I was 12 yr-old. I wanted to go to 7-eleven which is nearby my school with my friend. A day before that, I asked my mom for permission but she said no. I was really angry. I ignored her command and went to 7-eleven with my friend after school the next day. On the way, we met with a flasher. It was horrid! I've never seen "guy's thing' before that and seeing it, it was like seeing a monster. I was traumatized. For weeks, I couldn't sleep. Poor me! And I regretted ignoring my mom's command. Sorry, ma!

KFC on Valentine's

Yup, that's what we had on our Valentine's. Isn't this pathetic? LOL! Actually, we had planned to cook, but we were feeling so lazy towards the evening. It was hilarious on how we decided to buy KFC.

Ok, it was like this. We were on our way to market, in the car. Both of us were feeling a little lazy to cook, but we insisted that we cook because it was valentine's. "No need buy vegetables lar, just buy KFC, easy & fast!" I lamented out jokingly. Then M gave me a look that says, "How can?" And I said, "Joking only mah", followed by a brief laugh. So, I continued my driving. A minute later, he said, "Ok, let's buy KFC!" We looked at each others and laughed. Then we headed to buy KFC home.

Although our Valentine's dinner was nothing fancy, but it was the mood that counts. We were blessed that we still have each others, and blessed that our love is growing with our age. And that is what we need to celebrate Valentine's: LOVE! :)

Are You Ready For Marriage?

M & I have just watched Sex & The City, The Movie during the recent weekend. We found it kind of dramatic for Carrie to get so upset with Mr.Big that she has totally ignored him, leaving no space for making up. Well, at least she could have listen to his explanation first. But then again, who wouldn't be upset if the groom pulled out at the most exciting moment of your life? It's really a complicated feeling, if i were the bride. It's a mixture of embarrassment, anger, rejected, betrayal, hatred and love, all at the same time.

What i really love about this movie is seeing how supportive this group of girls are! And it has shown us how important our girlfriends are, regardless how old you've grown. :)

So, what was playing in Mr. Big's mind when he decided to leave the wedding? Well, at first, i couldn't understand why he kept calling Carrie and insist on listening to her voice before going in. But later on, i got it. Carrie has let the wedding gets bigger than Mr. Big himself. And Mr. Big was in a 'confuse' state for a moment. He thought that the marriage will change their relationship.

I think that it is so important to talk to your significant other about marriage and all before the BIG DAY. Communication is one of the key to a happy relationship. CMPC #5: Sacrament of Matrimony

We have Father Simon joining us in our 5th session of CMPC because it was about Sacrament of Matrimony. Father Simon explained to us the meaning & reason of having this sacrament. Before we start our class, we had a photography session. I am not going to elaborate on who is who, but to just show you guys the lovely couples whom have been attending this course with us.

Sacrament is an outward sign of an inner grace. It is a sign that bring invisible changes within us. We need to go through sacraments, so that we can be sure that we are in contact with God. We need to have faith and love to go through sacraments.

Jesus himself has invented sacraments so that we may see what is unseen. This was explained in John 9:1-12:

As He walked along, He saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned; he was born blind so that God's works might be revealed in him. We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is ocming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

When He had said this, He spat on the ground and made mud with the saliva and spread the mud on the man's eyes, saying to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam". Then he went and washed and came back able to see. The neighbors and those who had seen him before as a beggar to ask, "Is this not the man who used to sit and beg?" Some were saying, "It is he". Others were saying, "No, but it is someone like him." He kept saying, "I am the man." But they kept asking him, "Thn how were your eyes opened?"

He answered, "The man called Jesus made mud, spread it on my eyes, and said to me, "Go to Siloam and wash." Then I went and washed and received my sight. They said to him, "Where is He?" He said, "I do not know."

Matrimony is the sacrament made by Jesus Christ to sanctify (make holy) the lawful union of a Christian man and a Christian woman.

"Being subject one to another, in the fear of Christ. Let women be subject to their husbands, as to the Lord: Because the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of the Church. He is the savior of His body. Therefore, as the Church is subject to Christ, so also let the wives be to their husbands in all things.

"Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the Church, and delivered Himself up for it: That He might sanctify it, cleansing it by the laver of water in the word of life: That He might present it to Himself a glorious Church not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy, and without blemish. So also ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife, loveth himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, as also Christ doth the Church: Because we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall be two in one flesh. This is a great sacrament; but I speak in Christ and in the Church.

Our First Meme: 8 Random Facts

This would be our first ever meme. Actually Levy has tagged me on 8 random tags at AGP. But since i've already revealed so much about myself during my previous My 8 random facts, My [another] 8 random facts and My yet another 8 random facts, now how about 8 random facts about M? [Haha, sry darling, i hv to reveal some of your facts to our blogger friends. :P]

M does not like coffee. In our 7 years, I've seen him drink coffee less than 10 times. And the times when he drank one, is because I said it's extraordinary yummy. The last cup was 2-3 years back in Taiping. He drank Taiping White Coffee. oh, i miss drinking taiping white coffee! :)

M is a Juventus supporter since he was 13th.

M love to eat but he can be very fussy in his food selections.

M love playing football. He never skips his Tuesday football match with his friends, unless something important falls on that day or if he has hurt his leg the week before.

M can sing very well. Singing is one of his charm. When he sings and look you into your eyes, you can feel the electricity flowing to your body. :)

Before M & I started dating, he was at his perfect weight. I do not know when or how, he has became overweight. Some says it's the power of love, but i say it's simply because he love to eat! Honestly, i think he looks better this way! More macho! :)

M is a lazy good cook. He only cooks when the mood strikes him. But when he does cook, his food turn out to be fantastic!

M dislike crowded and noisy places, like the shopping mall on weekend. He prefers to stay at home.

Aishiteru means I Love You, [if some of you may ask]. There is a silly story of mine behind this word. Long ago, before M & I started dating, we were always hanging out in a group. M and my girlfriend were quite close as in sister-brotherly close. One day, M said Aishiteru to my this girlfriend. Even tho' he meant it as in sister-brotherly love, but I got jealous. hehe. M & I enjoy watching TVB series together. Thanks to Astro On Demand, we're able to watch the latest TVB series at the same time with our Hongkie friends. [But also thanks to Astro On Demand, we're RM40 poorer every month, if you know what i meant!] Currently we're watching "The Gem of Life". It has 82 episodes. Yes, i've typed correctly, it's 82 episodes. The longest TVB series, [i think].

THE GEM OF LIFE

You may wish to have fame and fortune.

In PAK SIU-YAU (LEE SZE KEE, LOUISE)'s eyes, her three daughters are just as perfect as diamonds. She believes that the greatest blessing for a woman is to marry a wealthy man. To guarantee a better life for her daughters, she has started training the girls since they were young, hoping that they will marry into the richest families when they mature.

YAU's first daughter HONG NGA-YIN (SHIU MEI KI, MAGGIE) does not agree with her on her values. Yet when she sees that the man YIN is going out with is KO CHEUNG-SING (LAM, BOWIE), who is very well-off, she decides to let YIN go with her choice. YAU's second daughter HONG NGA-TUNG (LAI CHI, GIGI) is hopelessly romantic but does not seem to have much luck with men. To make it up to her, YAU seeks to match her up with HO CHIT-NAM (CHAN HO, MOSES), the son of Hong Kong's most powerful business tycoon HO FUNG (YUEH HUA). Our thoughts: We dislike the character of Gigi Lai in this series. She's stupid and dependant. Always hate to see her scene. Between the three sisters (Maggie Siu, Gigi Lai & Ada Choi), we prefered to watch Ada Choi. She's the most sophisticated one. Tho' she has been cheated by her hubby, but that doesn't mean she's dumb. Her hubby is the dumb one for cheating her.

Well, so far, it has been only less than 10 episodes watched. Maybe we'll change our mind on Gigi's character as we go on. We'll see! :)

Family Planning

Last Thursday, M & I attended a 3 hours talk on Family Planning at Assunta Hospital. This was part of our CMPC. I had to say this was the most interesting talk i've ever attended. Even though we were both feeling a little fatigue that night but the speaker had our full attention during that 3 hours.

We were taught of the male & female reproductive system, latest contraceptive methods available and latest way of abortion - in which the church is strongly against abortion, before being introduced to the main topic: Billings Ovulation Method (BOM), an effective natural method of planning your family. It is based on the correlation of physiological events of the female reproductive cycle with observations made at the vulva. This method is being used in China and is said to be 90% accurate.

Interesting facts I've learn:
1) The life span of sperm is 1 day in dry place, and 3-5 days in wet place.
2) A male is fertile all his life long since the day he reached puberty.
3) The testicle is the ideal organ to store & produce sperm because of the temperature. That is why, male are advisable not to wear tight underwear/ pants to allow some room for breathing.
4) A male produces 1000 sperms every second.
5) Not all sperms being produced are healthy. There will be some with big head, some with crooked tail, etc. Only the healthy one will be able to swim to the egg and fertilized.

Interesting facts I've learn:
1) The life span of ovum is 1 day.
2) A female is generally most fertile a few days before, during, and after ovulation.
3) Most female ovulate on day 14th from the first day of her menses.

In BOM, we especially the females were taught to recognise the presence of musuc by the wet/ slippery/ lubricatuve sensation & visual observation, and to relate it to her level of fertility and to apply certain rules.

Homework: We were given a charting book to keep record of our observations made at the vulva. The next follow up would be three weeks later. They will then explain your charting.

CMPC #4: Sex In Marriage

Most peoples avoid talking about sex in their marriage. But it is really something we should talk about. In the world's perspective, sex is an activity based and it's for self-fulfillment, where as it should be a commitment and a way of saying both of you are united and belong exclusively for each others.

Sex is a day long love making. Allow me quote from the booklet that was given to us to further elaborate on this statement:

You touch each other alot. You are communicating - if not by touch, by words. You talk about anything & everything all the time. You listen to each other, because what is going on inside the other person is so important to you......The more you are really involved with each other all day long in every way, the more exciting & delightful sex will be for you two.

Again, it is back to communication. We must always communicate with our partner to know & understand what is happening in them. Sexual relationship runs into problem as soon as it becomes an activity in which both parties are seeking individual goals and satisfactions.

I've came to know this song while I was in Popular bookstore with darling jean recently. They were playing songs from Secret Garden and i thought thier songs were really easy for the ears. Back home, I downloaded few of their songs and found out that their songs are quite good and began to listen to them nowadays.

Secret Garden features the Irish violinist Fionnuala Sherry and the Norwegian composer/pianist Rolf Lovland. This duo plays New Instrumental Music or known also as Neo-classical Music.

Mono Friday #1: Kids

These two precious angels are my nieces, Sweetheart Chloe & Honey Jia May. The elder one, Chloe is 2 yrs and 5 mths old, while the younger one, Jia May is 6 mths old.

M & I, both of us love kids. We've talked about how ownderful it will be of having our own children. The ideal number of children we'll like to have are 2 or 3. This is what we wanted but the real thing is really up to God. May His will be done on earth as in heaven. :)

CMPC #3: God & Marriage

In our third session of CMPC, we talked about God's desire for our marriage and are we ready to give ourselves to our fiance. We were then asked to answer a questionaire consists of 9 questions. One of the instruction was to wrote a love letter to your fiance starting from your fondest hopes & dreams for your life together. As usual, couples were asked to do this separately, then come together to discuss about your answers.

When M & I gathered together for exchange of answers & love letter, I was quite excited. Anxiously, I asked for the love letter first. I read the first line and it was his usual style of starting a love letter to me, "Hi darling, time passes by so fast...". Then as i read on, i felt something, something was tinkling my heart. I do not know why but I had tears in my eyes when i've finished reading his letter to me. And my voice was shaky. I can't explain how i really felt at that moment, I was speechless. I just hugged him tightly and whispered "I love you" at his ear. It was his sincerity & his love that I felt from his words. He has really touched my heart. For the first time, I felt like crying after reading a love letter from M. One of the thing that he said is, "I am so looking forward to write this letter to you... ...i really hope that we can build a family together,"

Thank you darling! I love you! :)

During the sharing, every couples has their own stories to share. It was great to know about others, and i could relate to all their stories because it happened to me & M too.

M & I have a lot of special moments, too much that we couldn't recall. But it is important to remember your special moments, at least the most special one that you've experienced with your hubby. During the downs in your marriage, this special moment can help you to bring back the love feeling you had for your hubby.

Martin: I always believe "forever" because it is our decision to choose whether we want it or not to be.
Maybe some will say "noone will know what will happen in the future, how can there be forever?".
What i can say is, If you choose to be forever....that is your future.

Jean: Time Goes By is actually Our Song. When I first started dating M, I was skeptical about eternal love. I would say I was influenced by my sister's relationship with her ex. They had been dating for 7 years before breaking up. I look at their relationship as a happily ever after kind of fairy tale. So, when they broke up, I was doubtful about love. "How can you break up even after 7 years of togetherness?" I thought.

During our first year, M was always uttering, "I Love You Forever!", but I was sad upon hearing "forever". "Will there be forever?" I was doubtful. Despite my doubt towards M's love for me, M continue to nourished me with his ultimate love. He was being really patience with me. (Thank you, darling!)

As years passed by, I started seeing our future together. It was on our 2nd year that I've choosen this song for M, and it became our song. :) I really love its lyric, and meant every words of it.

CMPC #2: Communication

Communication is essential in a happy marriage. But becareful, there's a big differences between conversation & communication. Conversation is a head-to-head talk, eg; daily chit-chatting, where else communication is a heart-to-heart talk. It reveals the inner most feelings of oneself.

Well, I don't think we have any major problem in this area because I am always revealing my inner feelings to M, and I am always pestering M to tell me his inner feeling. But of course, at times, M would tell me his inner feelings voluntarily. :) He's the type of guy who would keep everything to himself. If he thinks by telling out his feelings, it's not gonna make any changes to the situation, he'll keep quiet. (This is wrong, darling! Remember, B & T said, we must always communicate with each others! ;))

There's also differences between hearing & listening. Hearing is receiving words, where else listening is taking the effort and totally understand the other person.

Like previous session, we were given a booklet and asked to do the first part on the spot. The first part was about rating you & your fiancee according to the characteristics in the list. We were fast in completing this task, compared to previous week. :)

B & T asked all of us to share. No one escape from this sharing. M & I were the last couple to share. I was having a sore throat, so M did all the talking. (Thanks, darling!) He started off with, "This is a good exercise. We all have give high rating to all the good ones but the bad one..." before M could finish his sentence, T said, "hide". And M followed, "hide. No, not hide, it's just that we point out the good ones as it can motivational."

Then T continued on and said that we should not hide the bad points from our partner as sooner or later she/ he is gonna know. It is better to be honest. She was going on & on, and we were just listening. I knew she had M the wrong way but i was too hurtful to speak because of my sore throat. I think everyone in the room thought that M & I haven't been very honest with each others.

On our journey back home, I asked M what exactly he wanted to say during the sharing. And he told me this, "I was referring not only about us, but all of the couples in the room. This exercise was good because it is sort of like a compliment to our partners and it could motivates us to go further." At the back of my mind, I was thinking, "I thought so!" :)

FYI, the characteristics were physically attractive, intelligent, fun to be with, humorous and etc. So now, you understand why M has said it is sort of like a compliment to our partners. :)

CMPC #1: Marriage Today

Yesterday was our first session of CMPC. There were seven couples altogether including us and the leading couple who are helping us through this CMPC are Byran & Tracy. They seems to be a lovely husband & wife indeed! We were all instantly connected, maybe it was because we all have the same objective which is preparing ourselves for our wedding. :)

Our first subject was "Marriage Today". Basically it was about what we think about our partner and marriage. We were given a little booklet with 8 pages altogether. Then we were asked to answer the first two pages separately with the ladies sitting comfortable in the sofa and the gentlemen sitting on the stool outside. After 20mins, we were asked to go back to our partner and discuss about our answers.

The questions were what is the characteristics of your fiance and your own, what is marriage and how marriage should be. Well, thank God these were not subjective questions. We do have options to choose from. Like for the question 1, we were given a list of characteristics and we were only to write our initial beside the charateristics that applied. Easy right!

We were not surprise at our answers as we got most of it correct, except for one, which is 'talkative'. All along, i thought i was a talkative person but M doesn't think so. Phew! it's such a relief to know about that. At least now, I can go on and on and on without worries. lol!

After the discussion between us, we were then asked to share with the other seven couples. Everyone were reluctant to share. The first couple to share were A & F. I cannot disclose much about them here as everything that we shared in CMPC is P&C. After them, Tracy asked who's next. Her eyes were going from couple to couple. I had a strong urge to share but I am afraid that M would not want to share. He's always the quiet one and refuse to stand out in a crowd. Tracy asked again, and her eyes were going second round from couple to couple. Everyone were extremely quiet.

Suddenly, M raised his hand and broke the silence, "Well, I have something to share." He went on and told everyone that we have been together for 8 years and we had each others correctly.He said that we do have arguements but it only lasted 5 mins each. He said time heals everything. Time as in the time we've spent together.

I didn't understand what he meant by "Time heals everything". But Bryan did. At the end of our session, Bryan said that love is like what M has said, Time heals everything. He added, **"Love is a choice. M choose to make a decision to love J and hence not to get mad at her for long."

I was really surprised that M has willingly offered to share. As I've said, he's the quiet one and would not speak in public. His action has proved to me that he is serious about this course and are willing to do anything to keep our relationship strong. This is a reassurance. I am really proud of him. And i am loving him more for that! :)

Homework: We were asked to complete the little booklet before the next session. Consists of three articles and 5-6 questions for each.

Catholic Marriage Preparation Course

M & I will be starting our CMPC this coming Saturday, the 27th. It will be held in a couple's house at PJ. The CMPC stretches over a period pf 6 weeks; one session per week and the duration of each session is approx. 2 hours.

This course is a pre-requisite for marriage in the Catholic Church. When you & your partner have decided to get married, you will need to register at your parish office. M & I registered 1 1/2 years in advance before our planned wedding date. It is better to registered earlier because you will need to wait till there are enough couples to start the CMPC. We waited for 3 months.

This is going to be our first step of our marriage preparation.
